Biography
Tracy Luck is a London based mixed media abstract artist working currently with oil, acrylic, wax, ink, thread unto collage, canvas, paper, cardboard. Her abstract investigations are through painting, photography and sculpture.
Her art journey started almost 10 years ago – she is self taught and prolific, producing abstract works which are influenced by her life in London, her Caribbean heritage, forms in nature, texture and decay.
She is a painter who also likes to ‘make things’, usually as an extension of her paintings. Her work consists of various series (like the Ketchup Daze/Maps to Nowhere series), each series dedicated to a specific idea and process, but all utilising her skills in mark making, lines, form, placement and her own text which she calls ‘unscript’, her work always a most personal conversation with herself.
Her work explores existential themes, often centering on human emotions and the complex search for identity amid a world marked by contradiction and complexity.
Education
Self taught artist (with a previous career in oil trading at BP/Morgan Stanley London, MSc Business Finance and BSc Business/Psychology)

Artist Statement
Abstract composition allows me complete freedom to express myself using a range of mixed media (currently using oil, ink, acrylic, thread, wax, collage and cardboard) with specific combinations of lines, form and colour. The choice of materials and the resulting lines, colour combinations and forms depend completely on the series of paintings or the painting itself.
My intention is always to see what will happen when I go further, always with feeling and concept, always with the aim to dominate the canvas and bring my abstract story to life.
