H O M E – December 2024
Storytelling Time at the artlounge
As part of our new exhibition H O M E, we invited children to gather beneath the sparkling Christmas decorations, surrounded by inspiring art, to meet Ayşe Özlem Yılmaz, the author of the delightful children’s book The Long Garden Detective.
In a world where adults often lose their grace and become preoccupied with their own interests, it was truly heartwarming to step into the sweet, gentle, and innocent world of children. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful Ayşe for sharing her enchanting story and for her captivating storytelling. When you create not just for a living but out of love, you bring a special kind of magic wherever you go.

Spotlight on British Art Fair
Cadogan Hall | Tracey Emin Paintings
This year’s British Art Fair, held at the renowned Saatchi Gallery, offered a remarkable showcase of British talent, with one artist standing out in particular—Tracey Emin. Known for her deeply personal and autobiographical work, Emin, has long explored themes of identity, love, human conditions, and loss. Rising to prominence in the 1990s, her art is often characterized by its raw emotionality, confessional style, and engagement with social issues, positioning her at the forefront of British contemporary art.
Two of Emin’s pieces particularly captivated viewers. One, titled “Like a Coffin” (2013), presents a sketched figure in blue ink, seemingly draped in cloth or lying in a coffin, as suggested by the title. Minimalist lines convey both fragility and intensity, while the blue tones create a spectral presence, reflecting the artist’s complex relationship with her own body. The second work, “It Was All About Loving You” (2022), continues with a similar theme, portraying a reclining female figure drawn with broad, expressive strokes. The intimate posture conveys vulnerability, while exploring the emotional complexity of self-love and love more broadly. Emin’s mastery of merging deeply personal emotions with public exposure is encapsulated in these pieces, pushing the boundaries of modern art.
This autumn, she will take the stage at Cadogan Hall to celebrate the launch of Tracey Emin Paintings, the first monograph devoted to her powerful and emotive works.
