Emre Evcimen
Born in İzmir in 1994, Emre Evcimen graduated from the Sculpture Department of Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2020. Despite his young age, his sculptures are already part of important collections in Turkey. In his works, he depicts a figure with an umbrella in various situations, exploring the mismatch between external realities and our expectations. Rather than focusing on the space beneath the umbrella, he is more concerned with the area outside of it.

Biography
Born in İzmir in 1994, Emre Evcimen graduated from the Sculpture Department of Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Fine Arts in 2020. Despite his young age, his sculptures are already part of important collections in Turkey. Artist Statement
I can say that in my work, I explore the discrepancy between external realities and our expectations. I create narrative pieces with a romantic approach, addressing themes that interest me through series focused on specific situations. I examine contemporary individuals and the challenging conditions they face, choosing to interpret these circumstances from my own perspective. My impressions of these situations are indirectly reflected in my works. The calm and atmospheric structure that I aim to establish creates an ideal environment for forming a silent dialogue with the viewer.
