Description

Flow of Light: A luminous meditation on perception and transformation, Flow of Light fuses the artist’s tactile collage practice with the artist’s newly developed (for this show) composite techniques. Through multi-stacked macro imagery captured in slow light, the work reveals hidden textures and ephemeral shifts, layering botanical detail with fragments of human environments. The result is a composite that feels both intimate and expansive—where nature’s quiet evolution meets the constructed rhythms of daily life.

Clare Newton FRSA is a Hackney-based photo-artist whose unique work transforms personal narratives into powerful visual statements. Newton holds a rare Double Guinness World Record for her innovative 2012 Cultural Olympics project; The creation of the longest photographic montage—a kilometer-long installation at the Indoor games venue ExCeL London. It involved 5,000 people getting ready for the Olympics. “Spirit of Legends” Portraits 52 Gold Medallist GB Paralympic athletes, to demonstrate achievement and replace adverse attitudes for disabled people to positive admiration, including top 8 athletes as Grecian God/goddess in renaissances held Prestigious Canary Wharf London, Stoke Mandeville Hospital for Spinal Injuries. Recognised by the AELTC who commissioned a permanent exhibition.

Artist Statement

My work begins with a camera, but then I discover and recreate a whole new imaginary world. I am a photographic artist, not to be confused with an art-photographer. The journey starts where I visualise and photograph intricate images that are technically challenging. My current series explores close up details of decaying Sunflowers. A process that is constantly changing – wilting, new forms, shadows, textures – its fleeting. From a start I build panoramic composites from multiple focus-stacked exposures. Then reformed to build a giant flower. These images are not just photographs—they are engineered visions, layered with precision and intention. Each piece evolves through a fusion of mediums. I integrate my own artworks—collages, oil paintings, and other tactile expressions—into the photographic base.
