Biography
Lukas Kroulik is an Anglo-Czech multidisciplinary artist whose work explores themes of environmentalism, sustainability, and the intersection of art and ecological responsibility. His practice, which he calls left-behind photography, transforms images of discarded objects into striking visual narratives that challenge perceptions of waste and beauty.
In 2022, his photograph Left Behind was selected for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, depicting plastic containers repurposed as fishing floats along the Brazilian coast. This work, both an aesthetic meditation and a commentary on environmental resilience, reflects his broader vision – finding meaning and function within the remnants of human consumption.
Nominated for Prix Pictet Award 2025 – the world’s leading prize for photography and sustainability.
