Seçil is an internationally known, London-based, Turkish-British contemporary artist with studios in London and Istanbul. She completed a BFA in 2003 and a MFA in 2007 in painting at the Mimar Sinan Fine Art University (Istanbul). Over two decades, she has been exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions in the UK, Europe, US and Turkey. She published an artist book with Istanbul Graphic Museum of Arts and exhibition monographs of her solo shows at Gallery Zilberman and Gallery Milli Reasurans. Seçil has been artists residencies in Europe before her move to London in 2017 and received a London Creative Network & EU scholarship enabled her to further her studies in artist business development in 2019. She shortlisted for the 253rd Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2021, and NADA in New York in 2022. She believes awareness of one’s own creativity and potential are guiding principles for a better future for us individually and together as a whole. Every piece she creates represents a set of emotions, an array of ideas which denote physical, mental, and energetic fields of resonance. Her art provides wellbeing, called the state of consciousness. She gave up her surname in 2023 and chose a new surname ‘Being’; however, as an artist she prefers to continue with the single name of Seçil.
