Life, Light, and the Fragile Balance in the Anthropocene
This exhibition explores humanity’s enduring relationship with the sun—its fascination from ancient civilizations to today—expressed through diverse forms of contemporary art.
At its core, Towards the Sun highlights two fundamental dimensions of our relationship with the sun, inviting thoughtful reflection on the many contradictions within this connection: its sacred and spiritual significance, which continues to shape our daily rhythms and cultural traditions, and our complex entanglement with nature, often in tension with the fragile balance between organic beauty and industrial intervention. The title is inspired by the universal gesture of plants reaching toward light—a poetic metaphor that echoes through each artist’s exploration of survival, adaptation, and the sun’s essential role in sustaining the life cycle.
