      Artist Statement

My parents were Turkish guest workers in Germany, and I grew up immersed in a perpetual tension of opposites—tradition versus modernity, foreignness versus familiarity, convention versus rebellion.
In my work, I am drawn to those boundary lines where different elements meet, attract, repel, yet somehow grow together. I am captivated by the beauty within chaos, by these intricate questions, constantly torn between them, wrestling with an elusive identity. I seek no reconciliation. I resolve nothing; I exist within it. I find exhilaration in unrest, life within conflict. For it is precisely there, on the threshold where everything both attracts and repels, that something true emerges. And despite all unresolved tensions, it is at its most raw at the beginning and most liberating afterward.

In my sculptures, I address the issues of ecology, nature, city and human relations. With my sculptures, I seek ways out of a world where humans try to create against nature and as a result, enslave themselves. With trees, I step into a wise and ancient world, and with my cities, I open the door to a utopian universe. Inspired by the saying that if we cannot change the world, we can change our own world, I draw a road map for myself.

      Artist Statement

I am a sculptor whose work centers on the human experience and our complex relationship with the environments we inhabit. I draw inspiration from elements of urban landscapes—buildings, streets, signs, benches, memories, myths, and stories—capturing how these fragments of everyday life shape our shared experience.

Through my art, I explore the universal feeling of never quite belonging to a single place, encouraging viewers to see the world as their home. My aim is to foster a sense of belonging to a broader global community and heritage, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries.

Cardboard is my chosen medium, symbolizing humanity’s enduring transience and migration. My sculptures reflect our shared journey, reminding us that, as a species, we are always in motion, in search of a sense of home that goes beyond the physical.
